Post-Response Post: Let me reiterate, this plumber did NOT see the part of the pipe was cracked. The area that was looked at was 10 feet away from the actual crack in the pipe. It was frustrating that a conclusion was made prior to finding the crack. Even after replying, it’s disappointed that pictures weren’t asked for to confirm the original guess of a frozen pipe. Original Post: This contractor was auto assigned to my case through First American Home Warranty. The issue was around an active leaking pipe, and without viewing the leak (because it was in a wall) he made an assumption that the pipe was frozen which then caused the leak. This automatically denied my case through Home Warranty and I would pay out of pocket through this contractor. I don’t think there was a need to guess at the cause as that could be assessed at a later time. The next day, I had a second, more thorough contractor do the work and repair the pipe. And the actual cause… not frozen, but due do physical pressure against the pipe. I have pictures of the pipe and if the company would like to resolve this with myself and First American Home Warranty, please reach out (you have my contact info).

Mikhail is professional, arrives on time and does quality work. He helped fix a gas leak at my house, replaced my water heater and replaced all my piping from galvanized steel to pex. If I could give over 5 stars I would, I was out of town when the leak occurred and he immediately came to help. I am for sure calling Mikhail if I ever need anything plumbing related in the future! He’s also very personable and wants to make sure the job gets done right and on time which I really appreciated.

Mike (Best Choice Plumbing) replaced my hot water heater today and did a great job. Communications were excellent both in doing the initial visit and the follow-up with the heater install. More than anything, Mike is a real gentleman with a very friendly and knowledgeable demeanor. He’s very hard working and quite professional. Though I offered, he preferred to bring up his supplies himself (I’m on the 3rd floor of a building) rather than let me help him. Being organized, he managed to do this in only a couple of trips. He prepped the work area using a thick ground cloth and went about his work. During the install he listened to my concerns regarding placement (I needed space for an upcoming new washer/dryer). Here is a picture of the finished work. You’ll notice that the expansion tank is mounted high so as to permit a stacked washer/dryer next to the heater. He made sure to mount this to a wall stud for structural integrity. I will definitely call Mike again for my next plumbing job. The price was very reasonable and it only took a couple of hours.
