I just had my floors done, and they came out great, highly recommended. Chris Potts was was very articulate explaining the process and everything was done on time. When the movers where moving the furniture back they scratch the floor and Chris came back to do some touch it up. (great job well done)

We were recommended Duffy Flooring by a friend after reaching out to several floor companies and not receiving a return call. Chris was prompt in giving us a quote and when realistically the project would start and end. The workers were very professional and we loved that the experience was dustless. Our last project was not and it was a nightmare to clean up. Highly recommend Chris and his crew.

After an unsuccessful attempt to remove the red from Brazilian Cherry floors , I watched Chris Pott’s video and contacted him immediately. He promptly responded and I arranged a conference call with Chris and my contractor for detailed step by step instructions. Chris is my hero ! Without his expertise and guidance through the floor bleaching and finishing process , my vision for my client’s Lake Front house would not have been realized . Thank you , Chris, and Duffy Floors ! My clients and I are forever grateful !

We hired Duffy Wood Floors for a project, enticed by their purported family-owned ethos and extensive experience but buyer beware, Chris Potts is simply an expert salesman. He leads you to believe he is the one carrying out the work; however, day of the project, we discover it has been outsourced to local flooring contractors who barely make eye contact and struggle to communicate with you. The final outcome for 3.5k was far from satisfactory. Debris and bubbles trapped under the polyurethane marred the surface, alongside noticeable HOLES between the wood planks. They got would finish all over the baseboard. This evident rush job lacked attention to detail, evident in the neglect of basic procedures like using a tack cloth. The workers left on a mini split fan despite me asking whether it should be turned off — they said “no, it will help with the drying”. Lo and behold, it actually just spread debris everywhere. Subsequent attempts to rectify the situation necessitated additional time, as they had to come back to address the flaws, including filling the holes in the BRAND NEW WOOD with wood filler. The results were subpar and did not justify the high cost, especially considering the modest size of the room. While I anticipate a less than professional response from Chris to this review (as I’ve seen his responses to other legitimate negative reviews) I feel compelled to warn others about our disappointing experience with Duffy Wood Floors. As such, I strongly advise exploring alternative options for your wood flooring needs. Personally, I am redirecting my upcoming projects to a different contractor in Medford, steering clear of Duffy Flooring due to their unsatisfactory performance.

Chris Duffy is a wealth of hardwood floor information. His families company has been in business since 1927 and that says something in itself! As a fellow hardwood flooring professional in Philadelphia, I reached out to Chris about some technical info and he was happy to share his knowledge with me. If you are in need of flooring services in the Boston area, I’d highly recommend Chris!

Duffy floors recently did our entire first floor and from start to finish they were great! Professional and knowledgeable and the floors are exactly what we wanted and what they said they’d be! Chris and his team are the best- I highly recommend.

We had an incredibly smooth experience working with the pros at Duffy floors. Chris was extremely responsive throughout the quoting process right through to the installation and refinishing. We wanted to DIY the demolition of the old floor and preparation of the subfloor to reduce costs and Chris even came by to check our work prior to our scheduled start date. Chris provided a very detailed quote and met every single expectation throughout the process. The flooring pros at Duffy floors were always on time (or early), respectful of the space, communicative, and very skilled at their craft. We are very happy with the work and hope to employ Duffy floors for our second floor remodel in the future. I mean, take a look at that shine! 🤩

I paid $6150 for 700sqft + stairs to be refinished. The result is yellow blotches, stop marks, white areas of uneven application of product and other issues in every room — the photos speak for themselves. Moreover, we were yelled at every step of the way. Not allowed to be in our own house. Yelled at us to “vacate!!” They said, “you can’t be watching me,” walked off the job, then lied about what we were doing just so they could accuse us of causing a hazard and not be allowed to be around. They take no responsibility for the issues in the photos, no explanation given, and told us we shouldn’t have higher expectations. Actually blamed us for asking questions, like why did we see them bring in the wrong product. Only offered to return 625 out of the 6150 we paid so that we wouldn’t leave a bad review, not to compensate us for their bad job. We will need to redo this job at our own loss. Once again, the photos speak for themselves. FYI, the owner’s response to my review consists of lie after lie. I have never met a contractor with such disrespect and disdain for paying customers, and who lies and manipulates at every turn. I have contemplated many times to take this to court. Photos speak for themselves and I have records of what happened, as well as forum responses from other professionals that say this is an unacceptable job. Anyone with eyes can see.

I have 30 year old parquet flooring and an oak staircase that was badly in need of a refresh. The detailed quote I received from Chris spelled out exactly what work was going be done, and what to expect when they were finished. I’m happy to say the work done exceeded my expectations, with extremely high quality work done by Marty. Marty used a newly purchased sander specifically for parquet floors that produced amazing results! This did create more dust than anticipated, but again an amazing job was done cleaning the areas. The attention to detail on the staircase refinishing was really appreciated as well. There was a lot of intricate work around balusters to deal with, and the work was done beautifully. Everything was finished with satin polyurethane, and I honestly think it looks better now than when it was installed new. It was a pleasure working with Chris and Marty, and they treated the work on my home like it was their own house.
