Steve did a great job on our Brazilian cherry wood dining room floor. The floor was pretty rough but Steve was able to get it sanded and finished just like brand new. He was very meticulous and detail focused. We would recommend Kuhn Flooring to anyone who wants the job done right.

Steve just finished refinishing our floors and I couldn’t be happier! They were original and in desperate need of help! Right from the start Steve was professional and courteous. The dustless sanding was top notch with hardly any dust at all. I would recommend Steve to anyone and would use him again!! Thanks again Steve.

Steve is the most meticulous floor sander I’ve seen, I’ve been working construction for many years and I haven’t seen anyone come close. The floors come out as smooth as glass. Some guys may seem nice but walking barefoot it you’ll notice grain and texture. Not Steve, you’ll feel like your feet are on marble. He uses all dustless equipment which is really great and hard to find. I would use Steve again for my floors.

Mr. Kuhn left us high and dry and can’t be trusted, be aware if you decide to work with him. First, he will not call and talk in person. He will not answer any phone calls, he only communicates by texting, and that is few and far between. Our experience with him started in late 2023, we had him come and provide an estimate for sanding and refinishing our Kitchen, Family and Living room floors. We agreed on a price but wanted to wait until after winter to begin the work. We later decided on a date in March, to start the project. As the day approached, Mr. Kuhn texted us and requested that we postpone the start of the project for several weeks, to allow him to attend to a personal matter. We obliged and told him to take whatever time he needed and to let us know when he was ready to begin. The next month he texted and set a date to begin on Monday April 15, 2024. He texted us the day before the project was due to start. He asked if we were ready, and if we removed all our furniture from the rooms. We confirmed that we had. We asked him what time he was going to start the next day. He informed us that he wouldn’t be starting until 10:00 A.M. He needed to get sandpaper before coming over. He said he would text when he was heading our way. Mr. Kuhn resides in Joliet; we live about 30 minutes southwest. At 10:40 the next day, we had not heard anything, so we texted him to see if he was still planning to come. He informed us that “time got away from him and that he was sidetracked”, he expected to be over around 1:00 PM. At 12:40 he texted and informed us that he was in Niles Il. He would then need to go and pick up his trailer in Joliet. Niles is over 70 miles northeast of us. We estimated he wouldn’t be starting until after 3:00 P.M. At this point he had taken the entire day just to get sandpaper. We texted him back to voice our displeasure with how the job was starting. Since he wasn’t prepared, we suggested that he wait until the next day to start. We did not hear back, so later that evening we texted him to see if he was coming the next day. He said that he would need to think about it, he felt we had been out of line to question him, and he didn’t want to work for someone who would question his actions. He said we were not being flexible. This was after we had already postponed the job, for several weeks, to allow him the personal time he requested. We told him that we were concerned about his lack of motivation and commitment. His process was estimated to take at least two weeks. We had our own schedule to work around during that time. We did not hear back from him. The next day he did not show up, nor did he call or text. He didn’t care that we had cleared out our furnishings from three rooms. He is more concerned about himself than his customers. He walked out on us because we had the audacity to question why he wasn’t better prepared to start the job. A respectable business owner would have accepted responsibility, apologized for the delay and committed to finishing the job as expected.

Very happy with our wood floors done by Kuhn . Quality work . Steve was very reasonable priced. He did my floors in June 23 and all we get is compliments.

Our hardwood floors in the kitchen and family room were heavily used ( and a little water damaged ) from years of children and pets. Steve did an amazing job; it was truly dustless, the odor was very minimal and the finished product was perfect.

Steve came in and saved the day! We had our hardwood floors refinished by another contractor who quit before job was done. Steve came in and fixed areas the other guy damaged or didn’t do and put our last coat of poly down. He did an amazing job! Wish we found him sooner! Highly recommend him! I wish we had found him first! He is friendly and knowledgeable! He didn’t dissappoint!
