Let’s start from the beginning. Any review with more than a 1 star rating is a scam. Gabriel (Gabe) is a con artist. We talked to several contractors before choosing him because he said he could do exactly what we wanted within the time frame we needed. This turned out to be the worst mistake of our business. Per his contract you have to pay a portion of the money up front to get started. Well, that would have been fine if he would not have used our money to fund another project and his own bills. His mishandling of funds resulted in him having to stall us out on our buildout for 3 whole months. His excuse was it was the plumbers fault. But the honest truth is every subcontractor he hired was not getting paid and they wouldn’t show back up until they received payment. They also did not want to deal with him anymore because they didn’t trust him. So, in order to get our project done we had to tell Gabe we will no longer be able to give you any money and we will take over our own project and pay the contractors directly. If it wasn’t for his ex partner stepping up and doing the right thing we would have lost a lot more than $75k. He also changed the name of the business. It was Fix, Hold, Flip. Now it’s just Fix, Hold. Trust me when I say this business is a complete scam. You will loose money and time and he will be so sweet about it.

I had high hopes for this contractor. I really did. He is easy to speak with and connect with BEFORE any work gets done. The contractor subcontracts work- he doesn’t do it himself so you never know what you get and I got a really bad demo job. Unfinished, unleveled, just bad work and it’s too bad because what was promised amd what I paid was not provided. 1. Overcharged for everything 2. When plumbing and gas lines became an issue, I was charged 2.5x more of what a licensed plumber would charge. Gabriel did come back with a carpenter to fix some things and even left paint and brussh on my counter for me to finish the job. I was supposed to get a 7 ft opening to the kitchen it’s 6.5 depending on where you measure because the wall is not straight- i dont think they used levels. Counter and cabinets cuts were off, couldnt push back my stove- he did fix that with plywood pieces. A cradenza that was removed and plywood- nails were left sticking out and they cut holes for empty junction boxes in new drywall- who does that? Only to put a faceplate over it instead of redoing the sheetrock. When the moved the electrical they didn’t space properly so the outlet cover doesn’t fit. They used my dumpster for dumping a toilet from another reno job and used my trash to mix their compound. They did buy me a new one that doesn’t fit in the trash bin drawer.

The quality of the materials used by Fix Hold Flip Construction was top notch, our new roof looks great and their use is even better.
