Josh and Steven did an outstanding job measuring / installing granite countertops and backsplash in our existing kitchen. We added a floating granite shelf behind our stove and the end result exceeded my expectations. Both Josh and Steven communicate effectively and are very professional in their approach to working with the homeowner. My husband and I plan to update our master bathroom in the next several months, and Baptista will be my go to for all of our tile and stone needs. Thanks again to the entire Baptista Team! We had our Quartz countertops installed on June 14th by Josh and Steven, they did a fantastic job. These guys are very efficient and have the knowledge and experience to get the job done right. We had a tricky garden window piece in addition to the L shape tops and the seams that were laid out by David in the shop turned out nearly invisible. The quality and craftsmanship are top notch, we really appreciate the effort that Josh and Steven put out to make this come together beautifully. I am so happy that they sent the “A Team” to do our job. Thank you to all the workers in the shop also.

Beware this is not the same company I was so proud to work for for over 20 years. Baptista was bought by paulsons flooring a corporate company 6 months ago, at 6 months they fired the whole tile division and are only using sub contractors who carry all liability. The new owner paulsons/ Baptista is now just a middleman making money off you and no liability. The personal service is gone cut out the middleman hire tile installers directly, “save money and get better service “

We feel so fortunate to have been able to work with Amy Westcoat for tile selection for our bathroom remodel. She was well informed, full of helpful information, and able to put her hands quickly on different choices for us. She was also a good listener and very patient when we were indecisive. We are delighted with our tile choices and appreciated her guidance. She even advised us on paint and grout colors and countertop. It was a pleasure working with her. I have never written a review but today is the day. Our tile was purchased from Baptista based on a sample product they had in their store. When the tile arrived, it was significantly different. Baptista agreed with us that it was different enough to be outside the normal stone variation. They asked the manufacturer to return the material and waive the restocking fee of 25%. The manufacturer refused. Instead of Baptista taking the responsibility of having a sample board that did not represent the manufacturer’s product and give us our money back, they charged us half the restocking fee. It wasn’t clear to us what we had done wrong at this point and why we had a financial burden fall on us when all we did was buy a tile from them that didn’t end up being what we and Baptista thought it was going to be. After this, It didn’t feel like they had our back. I wouldn’t go back because if a situation like this would happen again, we would be charged for it.

I would give this store a 4 or 5 star rating for the quality and selection but a 1 or 2 based on the service I received. I made an appointment and waited for a week in order to meet someone there. When I arrived I was met by Barbara who seemed to be put out that she had to deal with someone. She offered almost no advice and within a very short period of time I had decided that I was not going to be working with her. Instead I headed to Pratt and Larson in Portland, received great advice and great service and left with all I needed to do the tile work in three bathroom remodels.

Maylene, our designer consultant, greeted us at the door with a big smile, identified the slate tile we were looking for, and ordered it at a good price.
