Dave does a fantastic job with the painting itself, but the rest of his service left a lot to be desired. He doesn’t have the ability to stick to a basic schedule; this relatively simple 3-day job ended up being completed two weeks later than he’d originally promised. In the meantime, other contractors were scrambling to adjust their schedules because they were now being delayed by Dave. He communicated very poorly during that whole time, there were two separate occasions that he simply didn’t show up on the job site with no communication whatsoever. Less than half of the doors of the kitchen cabinets that were painted actually closed and latched properly after they were re-hung following painting. I understand that Dave couldn’t check that at the time (doors need to be left ajar so the paint can cure completely), but he also didn’t ever follow up and check to see that everything was working correctly. I had to pay my other contractor to correct the issues that Dave should have followed up on. So … the paint does look very nice. But the level of inability to stick with the schedule and general un-professionalism was very surprising and disappointing.

Dave was recommended by someone we trusted, and boy was that a great tip! Our friend said he did some of the best work in town, and I couldn’t argue with that. Totally crisp lines, quick but careful work, minor wall repairs made as they went… Great work and a good price.

It seems everyone thinks they can paint these days, but there are very few painting pros in the area. Dave and his crew and New Look are real pros! They show up on time, use good quality paint, and get the job done in a workman-like manner. I don’t have any trouble leaving these painting guys in my home while I am at work.
