We had a very good experience with our window installation. The technician, Chris A, Chris K, and Kris O were vert good with the installation and clean up. They took us around to see all the windows were sealed and caulked properly. The windows we felt was a good investment for our home. Thanks

Thank you to the entire staff of Design Windows and Doors. Our experience started with the very knowledgeable salesman Bill who helped us pick out our windows and sliding doors. We had an easy breezy meeting with bill. Angelica and Sydney in the office were very helpful with what came next. They were in touch with the HOA and resolved all that was required. Our two days of installation was so smooth. The installers Chris A and Chris K were extremely professional, polite and knew their jobs. We felt very comfortable that our new windows were being installed perfectly. We really appreciated their hard work and knowledge of the installation process of our new windows and sliding doors. I wanted to use this company because it’s close to to my home. I had them come out and give me an estimate. It was $7000 with no break down of any of the charges just $7,000 . I thought it was ridiculous. It was the older guy who came out. Told me he’d been in the business for years, he was once a contractor. No real contractor whatever write a estimate without itemizing everything so buyers beware.

I have a pending issue, our door was promised to be installed the last week of October. Our door was installed on December 1st. The door is beautiful but the bottom of the door has a Piece of metal from side to side in order not to let the air come in, this piece was short and was added a Mickey Mouse piece on both sides of the door making the door look not so nice. And a few other problems but I am waiting on Ashley or Angelica to get back to me with a resolution. Once this issue is resolved I will gladly update my review and give them 5 stars. For now I am not a happy customer.

They have just replaced all the windows in our home. The windows look amazing and have really updated our home, installation great with zero issues, looking forward to lower energy costs and Ashley has been great to work with.

Zero stars… AVOID this company. Unexplained delays, insufficient installs and multiple requests for damages to be repaired are not something anyone should have to deal with when they are hiring a company. While this job started out lovely, with a nice sales rep, etc. the job quickly went down from there. Once we FINALLY had approval for permits and the type of windows we were allowed to get according to the Long Beach Code of Appropriateness office (that’s a whole other issue with the city, which took 10 months to deal with), we then waited for our windows. When the team came to install our windows, they backed their truck into our brick and iron fence, damaging it. They promised they would fix it. They never did, to the point that I had to ask for a credit. Once the windows were installed, we were told parts were missing. Handles were the wrong color on some of our windows, caulk around the windows hadn’t been triple checked, so that was missing as well, meaning WE had to go back through and caulk the sections of the windows and trim that they had skipped over the weekend. Screens were also missing. A week or so later the missing screens arrived. The door that the team had measured for on multiple, separate occasions, and was supposed to be installed with the windows, we were told was the wrong size and they would have to measure AGAIN and reorder the door. SEVEN MONTHS LATER we were told we finally had a door. And then the installation delays began. It took weeks, strongly worded emails and the owner stepping in to finally get our new door installed. Of course they left the nail holes visible and put up the wrong trim on the inside of the door, causing more emails to the owner, a request for a credit on the damaged gate after their team came out and said they couldn’t fix it and it was a multiday job, something no one had told us when the damage was caused. I had originally asked for a lower credit, but once I heard how long the job would take and priced out how much more the gate repair would cost me to hire someone else to do, I asked for a larger credit, which the owner denied saying COVID had hit their business and prices. Yes, I know, I’m paying those inflated prices, and will now have to do the same with the gate I will need to get repaired on my own dime. I am generally a very reasonable client, having worked with contractors for 2+ years restoring our current historic craftsman house, and I’ve worked with contractors in different states on two previous homes we had lived in. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any contractor or business. I finally had to agree to the lower credit because I really and truly just want to be done with this company and never see or hear from them again. I will pay their inflated prices, eat the cost of the damage they did to my home and will have to pay out of pocket to repair, and await them coming out to fix the trim and nail holes they left in a $3000+ door install. I don’t have much hope that this will happen anytime soon or be done right, so I will end up having to do this myself as well. Needless to say, avoid this company at all costs. I love to support family and locally owned businesses, but if this is how they are going to treat an almost $50k job, then I don’t know what they will do to someone else.

We spent $33,300 on 39 windows and a sliding door for our home. Shoddy installation techniques, due to improper application of caulking around windows, have resulted in numerous windows leaking water and sand, and dark brown rings around all 39 windows and the sliding door. Poor customer service and communication along with low priority response has left these installation issues unresolved for over 4 months. Design Windows and Doors “Worry-Free Guarantee” really means that Design won’t worry about addressing any installation issues and will guarantee that it will take months if at all to get any issues resolved.

I wouldn’t give them 1 star if it was an option. You would be better served to pick up a day laborer out of a parking lot to install your windows. Do not trust this company with a big job. No shims, poor interior finishing, they made an order error and made me eat the cost of their error. They practiced marching drills on my clay tile roof, which obviously didnt work out well for my roof. Don’t walk away, RUN! Keep scrolling down the reviews, we are not the only one that give them 1 start .spend over 100 K , one of the slide doors is peeling the color off painted “by a professional “ yeah right RUN , RUN , RUN……

Got a quote. They were not the lowest price but were the best value, and would get the job done fastest of 4 different quotes. I reached out after a month without follow up communication, even after I’d already dropped a deposit. Said they were just working on it before I called and would get back to me the next day. When they did, they said the had under-bid the job by more than $1000 and had to cancel. It was a disappointing experience to work with this company.
