Horrible experience all around. This company should be out of business. We had (and continue to have) an incredibly frustrating experience dealing with Revisions Window & Door. Despite paying over $70,000 for new doors and windows for the front of our house, the experience and quality of the install and product are horrible. The installation resulted in one of the sidelight windows on our door being shattered, and the replacement process took over 8 months because they ordered the wrong size window for the initial replacement. We live in the heart of Chicago and this posed a safety concern. Revisions refused to offer any form of discount or credit for their mistakes. During install they also realized they didn’t measure a door frame correctly which resulted in a change order and them charging us more than our contractual agreement. The install left several scuffs and dings on our wood trim, and the attention to detail was lacking – there is a piece of wood between our door and sidelight that is crooked and misaligned. However we just experienced the biggest issue less than a year after our doors and windows were installed. The recent snow and rain in Chicago revealed a major flaw – the french doors in our bedroom are leaking, allowing massive amounts of water to seep in, which has caused significant damage to the trim, flooring and ceiling on the floor below. We have lived in this house several years and this never happened before our new doors were installed. The Revisions installers also confirmed they saw absolutely no signs of water damage when they removed our original doors and windows. This experience has been a nightmare and the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They sell a commodity product — look elsewhere and you will find much better quality and service. I wish I did. 5/1/2024 updated based on response from company: The response from the company is not entirely true. The cause of the leak could not be officially determined at the time of their response because it was winter and we could not properly inspect the masonry. Also, they only made one trip out to my home post-leak. We just had a highly rated masonry company inspect our masonry including removal of the limestone capping above the windows (this couldn’t be completed until spring/summer) and there was no sign of this being masonry issue.

We finally decided to get our windows replaced in our two-flat. The wood was rotten. We live on a busy street, we hear traffic, ambulances and police cars. We needed to do soundproofing and it was cold because of the single pane original windows. We had stained glass windows in our house. We were trying to salvage our stained glass windows and have those reinsulated. Revisions was not able to save our stained glass windows. They carefully took out the stained glass windows. Revisions Windows specialize in Marvin. We were going to go with Marvin windows versus Pella. We discovered that many window vendors don’t work with Marvin. We got a couple different quotes and it was very difficult. There were vendors that came to our home and did not want to take the job because they were not comfortable working with an old home and old windows. We also have original woodwork framing the windows, and they were concerned that they were going to destroy the woodwork. That limited us to just a few window companies. Revision windows had a salesperson that was meticulous, diligent, and detail focused. They were the most expensive company that we had quoted. The salesperson, came to our house often, made several phone calls to us, talked to the Marvin, took measurements. He sent people out to look and take measurements again. I could tell that he didn’t want to make any errors in the job, but also wanted the project because it was interesting and challenging. Our house now has a completely different vibe. The sunlight comes in beautifully. The windows are easy to open. They’re quiet, they’re insulated and much easier to clean. They’re just perfect. I really do love the Marvin brand. The installers and the workmen do a great job. They are employed by Revisions and have been working with the company for years. There is a lot of knowledge and experience with the carpenters, and they had a great rapport between them when they were here. They had me cracking up several times on the job. The salesperson who sold us the package understood our concerns about protecting our wood floors and our piano. We have bookshelves that I was concerned about the dust and the dirt. He worked closely with us to make sure that we had better floor coverings. When asked how many workers were going to be in the home and he said anywhere from five to seven, I said, oh great, we need to get a porta potty for the crew. He replied no, he wouldn’t get one and got extremely upset by my request and said he wouldn’t take the job if we didn’t allow the workman to use our bathroom. And I said, we have only one bathroom, there are four males plus me living in our home. And I clean it, so am unable to manage 10-12 males using our bathroom. He almost actually lost the job because I explained that he wouldn’t be able to have our job without a porta potty on site. He indicated that he never had a request from a client ever asking for a porta potty before. I felt it was an odd hill to die on. The job was a 10+ day job. He finally said let me get back to you, I’ll talk to my boss and he talked to his boss. His boss said, of course we will do a porta potty! He called me back and said he didn’t know that they’d had a porta potty at a site before. He did apologize to me for fighting me on the porta potty. It just didn’t make sense but it ended up working out. There was also another odd moment where the salesperson was demanding full payment before the job was done. There were no signals from me that we were dissatisfied and wouldn’t pay. He made me walk to my l bank with a worker and get the money before the workers would even set foot into the house. If you are considering Revisions, be aware of that rule that have. Even though I was yelled at and received gruff treatment by the salesperson, this did not outweigh the very high quality of service that our family received from the carpenters that came in to do the windows. The best carpenters I’ve ever worked with and we’ve done a lot of work on this home. I would hire Revisions again, without reservation.

We replaced every window in the house (over 30) and couldn’t be happier. Quality is top notch. The crew was very professional, friendly, kind, and certainly knowledgeable. You could immediately tell they have a long knowledgeable history / experience of installation / replacement. The work was very meticulous and they cleaned up after each day onsite. My project took a full 5 days. We installed / replaced with the Marvin Essential windows and they look great. All trim was replaced with meticulous precision and repaint / touchup. My wife and I couldn’t be any happier with our decision to use this Company. We would recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone looking for installation / replacement windows.

We used Revisions to replace all exterior windows on our condo – a total of three rooms – along with our balcony windows and sliding glass doors. The level of quality, professionalism and care taken makes them a pleasure to work with. They provided an all around A+ experience. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, my experience with their estimator was not favorable. He called and I had a couple of questions and was told I shouldn’t question him and that he had 23 years of experience. I thought since I was paying that I was entitled to ask. He hung up on me. Very unprofessional.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! We’ve had a lot of work done to our house over the past couple of years, and Revisions was by far the best compan we worked with. They were fast, always in time, super friendly, and always provided updates every step of the way during install. Th ere work was clean – they brought specific tarp type things to walk in in the house and work over. They did a great job cleaning up inside. Oh, and what kind of review would this be if I didn’t mention the windows. We have huge windows and needed wood windows to match our interior. We also needed white ones. Anytime you buy large wood windows, it’s going to cost a lot, but I can say now is that it was worth every penny (and tbh I wasn’t sure it was going to be given all the other work I’ve had done). Beyond happy with the product and was totally worth every penny. Thank you for everything!
