This review is strictly about an employee, not about the product. (These types of pure profit “security” systems are prone to a lot of issues that can disable an otherwise healthy car.) Chase wears the Rockledge shirt, but I think he’s assigned over at the Toyota of Orange dealership (both owned by the same guy, David Wilson). I have an electronics background, I also have had a personal and friends’ experiences to cull from when it comes to these types of alarm systems (namely KARR). I have seen friends and acquaintances (yes PLURAL) have issues with these types of systems. The problems include dead batteries and many other times where towing of the “bricked” vehicle was required. Chase helped me quickly and with no questions asked. Being forced to have that alarm system connected to my vehicle’s electrical and computer control systems, even if deactivated, was a deal killer. Their system is installed clean – Its removal does not subject the car to likely problems in the future.

Dealership Scam Alert: “Pre-installed” Does Not mean you must buy this with your auto. Demand “No”, and say “I will not buy this after market auto alarm.” Dealers admit this is just a way for them to make money and the state of CA should put a law against this type of fraud. The Finance person gets a commission to “up-sell” this and often misrepresents, hides it in the contract or lies about it. If you’ve been scammed go back and Demand your $. – You can file a Report with the CA DMV. – Then file a Claim with the Dealer’s Surety Bond. – You can file a Report with the FTC Federal Trade Commission. – You can even file a Small Claims Lawsuit against the Dealer & Win. I am 100% against Deception & Fraud and this is an admitted Dealership Scam sometimes (adding) stealing as much as $1,000 to $2,000 to the Purchase contract.

When I bought my car, that year did not come with a backup camera standard. So I asked to have one added. Toyota uses Rockledge to install aftermarket stuff on the cars. DO NOT DO THIS! THE ITEMS ARE JUNK! The back up camera failed within the 1 year warranty and was replaced from Rockledge auto at no cost to me. Just after the warranty expired on the second unit, that camera had failed. Shortly after this I was rear ended in a accident and the camera was replaced again from Rockledge auto. Just outside of the warranty of the 3rd camera it again has failed and I have no back up camera. Now that cameras are standard on cars NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) would deem this as a safety hazard and require the the cameras to be recalled. However my car didn’t come standard with the camera and I am screwed because of it. UPDATE: As of February 8th, 2022. Nothing will be done to resolve this issue. Only option both Toyota and Rockledge will offer me is to buy the same camera that keeps failing. Sad.

I have an after market keyless entry on my car from this company, not my choice since Toyota added it before I bought the car. Since buying the car in CA, I have moved to OK. I was having issues with the system in early April honking as if it were locking and unlocking, but not actually doing it, so I was having to use the key manually. I reached out and was told I would be contacted soon since they had to find someone to work on the car where I had moved to. Well, I was the one who had to follow up, every week for over a month. Each time, I left a message and instead of calling back, they would text me. Saying something like “we haven’t forgotten you, we are still searching.” After about the 5th time of following up, I gave up. It is now mid July and I have yet to hear anything from them. And of course now the system is having issues with the alarm going off for no reason. I have decided to have the system replaced with a more responsive and reliable company. Don’t waste your time with these guys. If it isn’t convenient or easy for them to help you, they won’t.
