I have been a customer of Sterling Protective Services not Citywide Solutions since 1992. The company changed monitoring styles as I understand several years ago but neglected to tell their customers that it’s not locally monitored any longer. I called in July to get my service transfered to a new address and get updated equipment. No one returned my call unfortunately. I called today and I was told that I have to give you 30-day notice to cancel and or move services. I have never heard of this before and the person I spoke to was rude and snide. This used to be a very good company with locally sourced labor and monitoring. If I would have known they changed this and changed my contract (without notifying their customers) I would have canceled years ago. Don’t waste your money. Very disappointed and if I could give them a negative 10 I would.

Terrible customer service! The person a business has answering their phones/messages should tell you something about that business and whoever “Julia” is in the company, she should not be dealing directly with customers. She’s rude and condescending. Could have cared less about problem solving and possibly saving our business. We are moving to ADT. Check out their other reviews on Yelp and Google. The owner has a track record of harassing you to change an unhappy review and if you don’t he will slander you. We just want people to know what they could be getting into with this company. It has gone down hill with the new owner.

All 6 of our Carbon Monoxide detectors went off – starting chirping- at 9:30 pm. They were not indicating CM but rather, the unit had surpassed its expiration date . Who knew they expired ? Julie was phenomenal and so patient in walking me then the steps to disengage the system . She stayed on the line with me the whole time . Thanks Julie !

Sterling Protective Services did a great job taking over support and upgrading our security system. Our prior provider sold their residential business to a larger provider, and their service was abysmal (we’re still working on our service cancellation and will likely have to open a CC dispute). In contrast, Sterling’s employees were professional, friendly, and clearly wanted to deliver quality service. Nice to be back with a local company who cares about their customers!

I have used sterling protective services for years, they were wonderful, now the have sold the business to new owners, customers service is the worse I have spoke with that department since the new owners and I am canceling my service tomorrow, going back to ADT. The customer service representative act like it’s a problem for her to talk to me. We have 3 properties with this company and I am done with them.

Bob is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He was able to resolve an issue with my Honeywell system (installed by someone else) within minutes. I will happily choose Sterling from now on! Thank you, Bob.

Sterling Protective Services did a wonderful job installing our security system. Their employees were professional, timely, friendly, and helpful. It’s wonderful that they are a local company and that their employees have been with them for so long which says a lot. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

I have had Sterling for close to 10 years at one hour and over 20 at another house. It just works. And the techs are terrific. Always going beyond whatever the call might have been.

Terri Emmelhainz recommends Sterling Protective Services, Inc. We have used Sterling Protective Services for at least the past 9 years. NOBODY stays with a company for that period of time without having the trust in the service they receive and the support from the company when issues arise. Sterling set up a call between 2 4 pm. Jesse arrived promptly at 2pm. He is our original installer and knows our system better than any of us. He addressed all of our questions and concerns. He replaced an older motion detector. Hopefully, this will resolve the many false alarms we’ve been receiving. If not, Jesse promised he’d be back until our issues were resolved. Terri Emmelhainz – Unity of Columbus.

We have used Sterling Protective Services for years and we highly recommend them. The technicians and support staff are always prompt, professional, courteous and helpful. We also appreciate the local monitoring and quick response times whenever we have had an issue.
