Utah’s Best Decks is amazing. I needed some repair work done on my father’s house, who recently passed. Knowing my stress level and loss, the owner Jeremy not only did deck repair, he repaired the porch roof, eves, and consulted me on interior work that needed to be done. Being a GC he also pointed out shoddy work I had just had done, so I was able to get that contractor back over to have it taken care of. I trust Jeremy and am now a little wiser… Such a great help, I wish Utah’s Best Decks did everything.

I had a bad experience with Utah’s Best Decks and would not recommend. First, communicaiton was poor. It took the company over a week to get back to us with a quote after having visited the house to scope out the work. Second, their quote was crazy high. They estimated our deck at 1,150 sq ft (including waste). This is ~$10,000 in materials for a Trex deck (give or take a few thousand depending on on the specific product). He quoted as at a whopping $48,000! So $38,000 for in labor / profit?! Wild. This price included some work on the frame of a smaller side deck, but did not include reinstalling the exisitng railing after the deck was done (which is a bizarre exclusion vs. industry practice). My wife and I can come off as pretty naive (but we’re not). In my opinion, this felt like a contractor trying to take advantage of a customer. I would not trust Utah’s Best Decks and therefore I would not recommend doing business with them.

Asked for a quote, came out, said he would have it back that night or next morning. One week later, no quote and does not respond. Company is a time waster!

I would recommend Jeremy and his team for their attention to detail, quality of work, and communication skills. With the holidays, weather, and Covid cause if scheduling issues. We had to wait a bit longer than expected the quality of work was well worth the time. It’s absolutely breathe taking. I’ll try to post photos of the finished project later.

We are so happy with how our deck turned out! It is built very well and looks super nice. It really is an extension of our home and the way it was built makes it look like it was always part of the house. The deck surface is Trex in the Clamshell color, which goes so nicely with the colors of our house. We went with the hidden fasteners so the deck surface is totally smooth and gives it such a polished finish look. And with the roof they built over the deck, it makes this such a nice area to relax outside, even when it’s warm outside. Jeremy (the owner) was the guy here every day throughout the building process. These guys are Trex Pro builders, which means they follow Trex’s recommended best practices and also extends the warranty of the workmanship. Their cost was lower than another Trex Pro bid I got and they were available sooner than the other guy as well. Oh, and it turns out that Jeremy has professional roofing experience, so when it came to shingling the roof to match our house, they did an excellent job. I was concerned that with material prices being so unstable these last couple years that I’d get surprised with a higher bill at the end, but they stayed committed to the estimate. Also, their prices were based on square footage, both for the deck and the roof, so that made the estimate and later adjustments we made to the plan very straightforward. Again, we are so happy with how everything turned out and are very pleased with the investment we made in our home. I know we will enjoy this deck for years to come and it adds so much value to the exterior of our home.

These guys did my neighbor’s deck with short notice and did an excellent job. My neighbor feels the need to compliment me every time he sees me now.
