I hired Vulcan to do a project involving a retaining wall and a new yard. I worked with Stuart and Tyler. I was very pleased with everything about the experience. It was done on time, on budget, and the end result was better than I hoped. I will hire them again for the next project at my home.

5 stars for the final product (the macro work) but I was amazed how amateur and confusing their project management was (the micro details) – 2 stars. Our (human) project managers were awesome, but they are incredibly busy and not well supported by details from home office.

My wife and I took several bids on a Retaining wall project. Vulcan design advertised in the local Newsletter so that is how we found them. Stu was the Consultant Met with us about our plan. Stu did all the work upfront to help us with design, give us all the information about materials, And project Our cost and time upfront. I Assure there are very few contractors who put the effort upfront without any sort of work Assurance. Working with the Vulcan team was wonderful. The communication, the flexibility, and the quality of work are all top-notch. I would recommend them to my family and I did.

I wanted to enjoy my outdoor space throughout the year, so invited Vulcan Design and Construction to give me an estimate on a permanent patio cover. Stuart gave an excellent presentation, explaining all concepts and options very clearly. He spent over an hour showing me options and explaining terms/processes I had no experience with. (By contrast, another company gave me a 15-minute “presentation,” but nothing as complete as Vulcan.) I’ve never had such a friendly sales rep before and because he went above and beyond, I was excited to work with Vulcan. The team was courteous, professional, and timely throughout the process. There was only one small problem (irrigation pipe cracked), but they fixed it completely before finishing the cover. Communication with the team and office was easy and effortless. I’d highly recommend Stuart and the rest of the team!

Clearly communicate, trustworthy, quick, and friendly. Oh, and the work they do is fantastic. Our back yard in a new construction was a huge slope, a gravel swale, and a small, swampy grass patch. We wanted to get dogs, but there was too little space and I didn’t want to clean paws every time they came in. Our neighbor had just completed some lovely landscaping with Vulcan, so I gave them a call. We talked about our goals and timeline, and we were provided with a solution – retaining wall with lights, re-grade the yard and put in artificial turf. We also contracted for them to put in plantings and a dry well to help deal with the water. Because it was such a large project, we broke it into two phases, the wall and the grass replacement. Our yard went from a bark mulch slope and a patch of mushy grass to a large, beautiful living space that I want to spend time enjoying. We have space for the dogs to play, there’s no standing water or tiny river when it rains, and my house is mud-free. We also had a side yard blocked off to keep it dog-free and had them put in pavers to extend the space for our trash cans. Their team was hard working and responsive to questions. We established a timeline and they stuck to it, even through some pretty ugly weather. We were made aware of any potential delays (materials not being available) and were provided with workarounds. Every day of construction there was a team lead on site to check progress and answer questions. This was the easiest construction project I’ve ever experienced and will welcome them back for any additional changes we may make.

Consult was great. Love the patio and deck. Overall, a good experience. For the most part, the workers were here as expected. A few items we addressed: If you want cedar handrail stained prior to application tell them. They were installed as raw wood. Clear and defined final cocktail rail product. It didn’t look as expected.

Worked with us really well including a massive change in plans due to family health. Did phenomenal work on our pavers, fence repairs and other repairs on the house. Would use again 100%.
