What I am about to share was taken to court. He lost the suit and owes a judgement that he is refusing to pay at this time. The case number is 2331-SC00074. He did not build the deck up to the Green County Code standard nor International Residential Code standard even though he claims to be an expert. This entire deck would need to be torn down and rebuilt correctly since no other deck company will repair someone else’s work for liability reasons. He never even got a permit for this deck, which is required for the type of work he did. You will be using this deck, not him. A lack of safety shouldn’t be something to mess with and having someone double check his work should be your first priority. Please be very cautious when looking to use this company. Additional information, he ignored the request to give the full materials list after multiple attempts to get it. Ended up going to the Lowes where he bought some of the materials and got the full list. The materials were marked up 60% by this company. Labor is one thing but a 60% markup on materials is outlandish to say the least. Again, please be very cautious if you even consider using this company.

If you ever have to get a deck built or if you’re like my wife and I, and want to replace a disastrous existing one this is who you need to call. They communicated throughout the whole build and the quality of work is top notch. They work hard, are always on time and will never short change you at any point through the process! We are extremely pleased with our deck and will recommend them to anyone and everyone!

This team did an amazing job. Owner was quick to respond, gave a fair price, got the job done a week earlier than promised, and was an overall great experience. Owner had spectacular communication throughout the entire process. His guys were polite, professional, prompt, and kept a very clean work area. I would recommend The Deck Guy without reservation.
