Harpers contracted with me in February 2024 to do hurricane rated power screens on our Lanai. The work was to have been completed by mid April. They took an $8000 deposit and then never showed up. Neatly all attempts at communication with the company were ignored. I drove to their place of business twice to talk to them and just got empty promises. Now I have learned that their CEO(?) Brian White has been arrested for treating many othe customers similarly. We are seeking help for getting a return of our deposit. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

If anyone is looking to have their pool cage replaced please think twice about using Harper’s Hurricane Protection and Screen Enclosures. We had a signed our contract October 2022 for a December 2023 installation- well they just completed the project last week and wasn’t prepared even at that –did not have enough tinted screen and the new door didn’t even lock properly. They did come back two day later to fix but not BEFORE wanting to be paid before the job was completed properly. Communication was nonexistent unless we reached out regarding the 6 months delayed. On a positive note -the crew was very fast and respectful.

One is too many stars! What Harper’s 1980 LLC is doing is devastating!! In September 2023 we put $28,100 50% deposit down for Harper’s 1980 LLC to put in Hurricane protection. Brian took the deposit and cashed it within a few hours of leaving our home . All the complaints you have seen are true -little to none communication, commitments not followed through on, lots of deception and lies. After months of no follow through we started to ask to cancel our contract, which was pushed off with more promises of discounts and requests for more time and multiple chances Brian the owner of Harper’s keeps saying that there are people “out trying to smear his reputation”. The reality is, there is nothing good about Harper’s or Brian. we are all out of patience and just want our money back so we can get the work done by a business who will do the work! in a reasonable amount of time!. We sent a demand letter in May 2024 and was told they would give us our deposit back on June 10,2024 at 4PM. We showed up and no one was there. We found out, He had sent an email at 1:50 PM same day saying he needed more time and would be in touch after we cancelled a trip and drove 45 minutes to go there! No call, no text! Of course this date has come and gone. He plays up that he is a religious man that has all the integrity in the world. But anyone that had even the smallest amount of integrity wouldn’t go what he has to so many innocent people. This isn’t a few. It is over 34 and counting.

We contracted with Harper’s after losing our cage to Ian; we knew the wait would be lengthy, but our beautiful enclosure was completed last week, and we’re delighted. The crew was professional, efficient, and skilled; between permits, acquisition of materials, and the vetting of qualified crews, the process was a long one – demand for cages is huge, and Harper’s delivered a great product.

Put a deposit down deposit down one week after Ian hit and from then on got the run around. Finally had to have someone else put up the pool cage two years later. Do not trust or deal with this company.

UPDATE THIS GUY HAS BEEN ARRESTED FOR BAD BUSINESS AND FRAUD DO NOT HIRE THEM This company had great reviews so that’s why we went through them but seeing the more recent ones we have also had a poor experience. We have been waiting months and months and have a deposit down and they keep promising they will come out and install then don’t show up or call to say they need to reschedule. They are not professional at all and I don’t think we will be getting our shutters in…

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They signed a contract to replace our pool enclosure damaged by Hurricane Ian. Collected a $2,000 deposit. That was the last time we heard from them. They do not return emails or phone calls. The office is always closed. There is a long list of BBB complaints, Google bad reviews and Small Claims Court judgements. Brian White is the owner operator. The business should be forced into bankruptcy.

I signed a contract with them October 2023 for hurricane shutters at my home. I gave Brian White a check for $3,800 as down payment. As of today, June 8, 2024 I still have NO shutters and no response from company.

Read the small print…8-12 months turn around time. Never discussed out loud but on estimate it says exactly on 2 lines “permit/engineering 8-12 mo”. So shame on me for NOT reading more closely: also 5% of total job if you cancel and find a more timely company… In this modest case that is $710 for me signing the estimate (ALA contract) and I doubt they’ve started a got dam thing. Kevin Cronin DVM Now it’s over a year with no progress. They are argumentative while making no progress on my repairs from Hurricane Ian and insist on making it difficult for me to get my full deposit returned in good faith. Now apparently I’m required, yes, required to involve the postal service and send them a certified letter. They are petty & ridiculously unprofessional and don’t deserve your business or mine. The next review after mine is by someone named “Keane” which is the same surname as most of the people I’ve communicated with at “Harper’s LLC”. Kevin Cronin DVM
