I need some repairs to my deck. They don’t service Detroit ( the biggest city in Michigan). Then the representative said they were short staff. Liar, liar, pants on fire. Their advertisement doesn’t list Detroit in the service area. However, all neighboring cities are listed.

Richard and his crew restored our deck with Trex decking at a reasonable price. They had to reinforce the supporting structures of our deck and gazebo. Richard also did an excellent job communicating what had to be done and the reasons for it. The job was well done in a timely manner.

2023 Update: My cedar deck was 23 years old, at the end of its useful life. Restore a Deck certainly lived up to its name! They replaced the decking with Trex and were able to utilize the existing underlying framing. We love the new glass wall which provides us a beautiful view. We couldn’t be happier with our “restored” deck and the professional service we got from Restore A Deck. Rich did a great job communicating with us during the process, I highly recommend this company. 2018: This deck is 18 yrs old, Rich and his staff do a great job and been taking care of it for years. Thanks!!!

I just wanted to share this as an outstanding product. I purchased the stripper,brighter and gel additive. The stripper packet did indeed make a 5 gallon portion and the gel additive was plenty for the 5 gallons also. This product went on nicely with a hand sprayer and had good adhesion to vertical surfaces. I had a particularly dark stain to be removed from the gables of my house and the front porch with intricate railings. The gables are cedar and the front porch is yellow pine. The stripper worked wonderfully. I did however need to repeat the application as the stain I was removing was very dark and I wanted to get back to almost natural wood tones. After applying the brightener I got exactly what I was hoping for. Using a power washer does raise the wood grain but it is worth it to get the lighter wood tones I was looking for. I have done this job at least 4 times in the last 35 years and this is the very best and most reasonably priced product out there. I wouldn’t waste money buying strippers from big box home improvement stores.

I have used this company for years. My cedar deck was rotting. Richard pointed out the internal rot on the decking planks. It was clear the decking needed to be replaced. Once the old decking was off, the township required certain other work. Proper Change Orders were presented to me so I knew what the ultimate cost would be. The crew appeared on time each day and, was entirely professional and did a terrific job. I was completely satisfied. I can highly recommend them.

They give fair prices and operate with Integrity. I have been thrilled with the quality of the work. I know things have been challenging with the labor shortage, but when they promise to do something they do it. The other thing I really like about this company, is that they will operate in the best interest of their clients. I have a deck that needed some repair but was otherwise in fair condition. All of the other contractors I contacted said some variation of “It wasn’t a big enough job, we don’t do repairs, we would rip out the whole thing and install new”. Those other contractors were quoting me for more than the price of a car for a full deck replacement, which I really didn’t need or want. Restore a Deck made the necessary repairs for a very affordable price. My deck now has at least another 10 years of useable life left in it. My wife and I are completely thrilled and grateful for the service provided.

Called to get work done on my deck. Operator: – “Have we worked on your deck before?” Me: – “No” Operator: – “What city do you live in?” Me: – Ypsilanti Operator: – “Sorry if we haven’t worked on your deck before we are not servicing your area!” OK? Then why ask what city I’m in, If i were to say West Bloomfield, you would take my request then? I didn’t like then answer i was giving seems like they only want to service the richer cities and towns.

Richard Pauley and his crew did an outstanding job replacing our wooden deck with a Trex deck. Now, there were a couple of issues with the local inspector and a hidden part of the old deck that created the need for a couple of change orders, but even the change order requests were reasonably priced. I’ve been a contractor for fifty years, so I know how changes are often priced. The only other problem was that the project was supposed to be done during the early summer of 2021 and Covid created a shortage of workers, so the deck was not completed until late fall. Not what we wanted, but at least the delay was understandable.
