We recently purchased carpet for a 4 season porch, and LVP for a basement family room from Hamernick’s in New Hope, MN. Our salesman John, was very knowledgeable and very helpful. He ordered up carpet samples for us, and allowed us to take a number of LVP samples home as well. The installers for both the carpet and LVP were very prompt, and professional. We would highly recommend Hamernicks to anyone with flooring projects!

We have had a horrible experience with this company. They installed vinyl flooring in our lower level 10 months ago. All was well until we noticed a residue appearing between the vinyl planks. After research on my part, I learned that installers are supposed to test the concrete slab for moisture, and if necessary, install a vapor barrier or seal the floor. They did no testing even though it states clearly in the product’s installation manual to do so. The company was very slow to respond to the issue. It took seven weeks to even get someone to come and look at the situation. They tried to explain it away as a leaky basement. That is not the case. Our drainage system is working perfectly. They simply did not do their due diligence before the installation. When asked about it, they stated that they “see this all the time.” Well, perhaps as the flooring experts, you could have taken steps to avoid this issue. After further discussion, they recommended that I remove all the flooring, seal the floor and reinstall it myself. This lack of accountability on their part is unacceptable. They have simply ignored my repeated attempts to work with them to solve the problem. In general, this company does not back up their work and does not respond to problems. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. Do not do business with this company.

My wife and I recently decided to update our kitchen. We visited several places to look at flooring and Hamernick’s in New Hope definitely was the most pleasant experience. John was there to answer all our questions during several visits and make sure we got exactly what we wanted and needed without any pressure. Once we decided on our floor, he maintained constant communication during the process from ordering to install to insure it met our expectations. The installation crew was awesome and the removal and new install was fast and way better than expected. I would not consider going anywhere else for future flooring needs. Thank you John.

I’m an account manager for a staffing agency and stopped in to drop off some materials. Gentleman behind the desk was very kind and greeted me with enthusiasm. Great vibe in the store. Definitely an organization I would want to do business with if I was a consumer.

Mr. John Longman, one of Hamernick’s sales staff, is the consummate sales person! When I walked through the doors of the New Hope location in the fall of 2022, he greeted me enthusiastically and as we talked, he listened closely and showed me around the store, informing me of various options for vinyl flooring. He asked me about the climatic conditions of my condo, whether it was dry or humid, and recommended the product that would produce the best outcome. He helped me choose the flooring for each room, guiding me along the way to achieve a designer look throughout my place. Whenever I contacted him by phone, If he wasn’t available, he got back to me as soon as he was able. He also was readily available by email and text. While I had planned to have the installation done in February or March of 2023, I had to change my plan because I had to leave town for the winter of 2023 because my father was dying and eventually died. John was patience and compassionate when I contacted him to tell him that I had to postpone the installation and I wasn’t sure when I’d be ready to do it. Besides the flooring installation, I was in the middle of an overall renovation involving my kitchen and one of my bathrooms; given this situation, I had to postpone the installation yet again during the summer of 2023. I had to ensure that the renovation went according to plan before the flooring could be installed. John, patient and steady, served as a good friend and advisor during my renovation and the flooring installation. I cannot express my gratitude enough, John. You and your crew did outstanding work. I am quite happy with the results. Thank you!
