We’ve been using Service Experts for the past three years to keep our HVAC system trouble free. Dustin really knows his stuff! I’m always happy when he comes through the door because I know he’s going to make sure our HVAC is reliably there when we need it most.

He knew his stuff and what needed fixed. But showed up 15 minutes AFTER the “will arrive between 12-4pm” window. The part we need is $800. Today they call with an unofficial quote for parts and labor, $2600! I feel this is an upcharge due to in being cold outside. Hard pass. *Edit to add* After a little bit of research we found the parts we need,the main part being the pump that was quoted at $800. The pump in question is at Home Depot for $115. Talk about straight up extortion!

I have been calling for over a month for them to change my filter. I’m a part of their membership program. Every time I call them they say they will get someone over immediately. We set an appointment and no one shows this has happened three times now!!

Based on our recent experience, this company is unethical and misleading. All of this happened during an annual HVAC system check – our first and last with this company. The tech checked our carbon monoxide levels by drilling a hole in our exhaust vent – without informing us or asking for permission. (This is NOT how you check for dangerous carbon monoxide emissions from a furnace, as we later learned.) He said this was very dangerous and warned us about how this could be life threatening, especially to our 3 year old son. We were worried. It is an older system. We were told we were up to over 350 parts per million, which could be extremely dangerous – but only, it turns out, if these levels are reached in the air you are breathing, which is NOT the same as the air in the exhaust pipe. This company tried to lease us a full HVAC system that would cost a total of more than $38,000 over a 10 year period. The heater and AC units they recommended were far more powerful than we needed for the square footage of our house. When we requested a breakdown of costs for each piece of equipment, the sales rep gave us numbers that did not add up. He never explained why they recommended the units they did, other than it being “life changing.” We declined. For our safety, we checked all 3 of our carbon monoxide detectors, including the detector less than 8 feet from the furnace (none of which ever went off). All were working. We called the local fire department to double check, and they said there were no dangerous emissions from our furnace, and only a mild one time emission of 38ppm from our gas dryer. Everything was safe. They said the tech’s testing method is not valid, and you do not put a hole in the exhaust pipe to test for carbon monoxide in ambient air. We also spoke to a relative who sells HVAC systems. He gave us the cost per unit of each appliance this company tried to sell us, and the actual prices were about half of what they claimed, not including the close to $10,000 service plan if we leased. Overall, we are disgusted they tried to manipulate us. We do not trust them. We found them overpriced, unprofessional, and unethical. Also, the technician took the logo from our furnace unit without asking. No clue why.

Just had Roy out to my house to fix my AC that went out yesterday. As a first time home owner I was nervous about the process, but this guy was so patient, easy to talk to and very professional. Highly recommend these guys and Roy to anyone looking to have their heating or cooling repaired.

Roy F. was very friendly and professional. It would appear that he really cares about his customers and the company. He was knowledgeable and helpful about suggestions for units future preventative maintenance and protection for the winter. Little gems of information go along way and I appreciate it. I feel so impressed by him that I requested him for my next routine service call. So if you are looking for someone who is a quality individual Roy is the man.
