Not a great experience. I had power fluctuations in the house. Boss came out right away and noticed a bad weather seal at the pole leaking water into the meter. He ignored it and his crew spent three days looking for the issue and was about to run a brand new (expensive) line from the meter to the house when they discovered corrosion at the meter. Tightening a connection did the trick. I was charged for three days of needless man hours for a job that would have taken 1 hr if he would have not ignored his first observation. I give them 5 stars for promptness-they came right away when called. 5 stars for service- they stayed with it until the end. But I give them only 2 stars for expertise and knowledge-they weren’t able to diagnose the problem quickly and they should have. I ended up paying for 6 hrs of work that should have taken 1 hour. In addition, had to replace a sidewalk section that was dug up in the process.

It’s been tough finding an electrician these days with everyone running short staffed, but after we called, Hopkins got back to us promptly and got us on their books as quickly as they could. Strong communication with us and our electrical issues were quickly resolved. Very thankful for their fast, friendly, and efficient service!

I have a connection to the contractor, but I have used them for many projects over the years. I have received positive feedback from those who I have recommended Hopkins Electric to. Most people tell me that that HE’s response time, cost, and ability to complete the work is better than their experiencea with other electrical contractors. While not the cheapest contractor, you can expect to get what you pay for; I expect to get things done correctly the first time in a reasonable amount of time and they have delivered. I would recommend them.

Feel taken advantage of. Needed electrician to help after having no electricity in our upstairs after remodeling. Was told that with paying for two electricians per hour the job would go faster. Was NEVER told I would also be paying for their drive time to and from the job along with the work. Had two guys come that were there for less than two hours. They were both in the kitchen area with one guy fixing the wires the other guy a couple times walked down the hall to tell the guy whether the lights were on in the hallway. Got the bill for $502 for less than two hours of work. Called the company to see if they would lower the price because it did not go any faster having to pay 90/hr per guy a hour. The guy on the phone was rude and argued with me and in the end said he would call the guys that did the job and hung up on me. They went down to 400. I told them that would be equivalent to ONE electrician spending 5 hours to fix some wiring in ONE junction box which was the problem they fixed Was told to either pay the 400 immediately over the phone and if I didn’t then the bill would be the 500. I feel like because I wanted to find someone ASAP this company jumped on it and charged me double plus made me pay for their drive time to and from our house at 180/hr!!

The guys assigned to my job were great! They problem solved a way to install a new outlet in a difficult location and were efficient & pleasant. Highly recommend.
