I don’t even know where to begin – I’ve lost count of the number of mistakes and mishaps that Nichols has made over this past year. I’ve tried to be patient, but the time it is taking them to repair their damages has gone on too long. I’ll preface it with saying that Cierra at the front desk has been lovely to deal with- the real problem with this company is the owner, David. Rewind to last Spring when our hot water heater stopped working and our home warranty company assigned Nichols as our contractor. A new hot water tank was eventually installed in August of 2023, and I thought that our hot water tank issues were done. Wrong. December 24th 2023 I noticed that the runner outside the door to our hot water tank was wet. We opened the door and the whole hot water tank closet was full of mold (see photos) and there was a slow leak coming from the water supply line. The technician did not do the lines tight enough, and when the weather got colder, it began a slow leak – the water sensor they supplied didn’t even go off, which was even more annoying. I spoke with the owner, David, and I asked for him to go through his insurance to repair the damages. Not wanting to go through insurance, he gave me his word and assured me that “he’s got this” and it will look as if the damage never happened. For EVERY. SINGLE. STEP. that has had to be done on this job, I have had to be the one to initiate the phone call to Nichols. David sent an employee to cut out all the old drywall and let the wood air out for “1-2 weeks”. 4 weeks later I had heard nothing from them, so I began calling. The next time the tech was there, he forgot to tighten the gas valve entirely and we had an ACTIVE GAS LEAK in our laundry room, until we tightened the bolt ourselves on the gas line. Charley who did most of the drywall work was wonderful to deal with, and very accommodating of my requests. However, whenever we needed him to come back and finish parts of the job, weeks would go by before I was the one calling Nichols to get David to finish the work. Charley finished his portion of the drywall work in April and it wasn’t until I phoned them in JUNE that David sent drywallers to do the texturizing and painting. July 2024 they finally sent drywallers to texturize the drywall and paint. I specifically asked them to put plastic over the windows to protect the cellular shades and they said it wasn’t necessary as it was only a small area they were working in. They still managed to get drywall on my blinds that I cannot get off, since they are fabric (each of those blinds costs around $700). And to top it all off, when they painted, they used the wrong paint! They used the semi-gloss paint for the trim and baseboards, ON THE WALL. I’m still left with horribly mismatched walls, a damaged blind, missing baseboards, and missing trim around a door. David – you gave me your word that “you had this”, but it’s been nearly SEVEN months and the work is still not done. Do better. Please make this right.

Andrew Durlene came to our house and was perfect: polite, skilled, efficient. It was a surprising joy and the problem was resolved. 5 stars easy! Add-on edit: We’ve since had Justin come out for a plumbing issue and Andrew again at parents place. We can not say enough good things about both these guys. So professional and pleasant… with results! And scheduling appts, very pleasant to talk to the office. So impressed with everything about this company we’ve been exposed to. Nichols Mechanical is our go-to now for any of these issues! Thank you so much for a positve experience!

Our AC died on a saturday.It was 107degrees.we called them,and within 15 minutes they were here.Within 3 days they replaced our unit.there technicians were outstanding.I would highly recommend them for any Hvac project.professional,clean,pleasent to talk to,knowledgeable,ontime.i was having surgery the day of install and they went out of their way to get it done before i came home that day.Dont know what more to say except I am very pleased with them.

Excellent service! Late June is a terrible time for your AC to stop working, which mine did last evening. Ray, Adam, and Andrew had me taken care of early the next day and I couldn’t be happier! Everyone was so very kind and professional as well. Thank you Nichols Mechanical!

Home Warranty company assigned Nichols Mechanical to diagnose my heat pump /AC not working – What a nightmare – stay away from this company – They ordered the wrong equipment, then told me they were not sure when they could come back – but if I work with them directly outside of my home warranty company they could replace the equipment next week. Company is unethical and will rip you off. I fired them and my home warranty company found me another provider
